Uses
Copper Sulphate Technical is used for the manufact-ure of Bordeaux mixture only.
Preparation of Bordeaux
Bordeaux mixture is prepared from Copper Sulphate, quick lime and water. The strength of the mix ture is in terms of the properties of the ingredients of the percent age of Copper in the mixture in the former case it is specified as 1:1:225 and in the latter as 0.4% or 0.6 % etc. (1kg 225 Ltrs of water)
- Dissolve required quantity of Copper Sulphate in 3/4% quan tity of water in glass / plastic / earthen pot or wooden tub.
- Dissolve quick lime in remaining quantity of water.
- Mix the above solution in another tub.
- Test the H with blue litmus paper which should not turn red or by dipping a knife blade on which Copper Sulphate de posit should not appear if the mixture is acidic add more lime.
